Governing

Governing is understanding that government is only one tool, not the ultimate solution.

Governing is suggesting as a rule and commanding as an exception.

Governing is teaching that every unfavorable action should not be followed by “There ought to be a law.”

Governing is the flexibility of justice, not the rigidity of law.

Governing is ruling as little as is needed, not as much as is wanted.

Governing is using reasonable corruption to benefit The People, not perfect sainthood to strangle them.

Governing has nothing to do with reelection.

Governing places the unpopularity of being fair ahead of the popularity of being kind.

Governing is not being a bureaucrat, expert or technocrat, nor allowing any of those to proxy govern.

Governing is the wisdom of no, not the popularity of yes.

Governing is insuring the freedom of The People, not the power of government.

Governing is the wisdom of using a clenched fist.

Governing builds trust, not popularity.

Governing lacks all political parties.

Governing has two ears and one mouth.

Governing creates simplicity for The People, not complexity for bureaucrats, experts and technocrats.

Governing has self-confidence, not self-importance.

Governing isn’t hard, it’s just not wanted.
