Leader or Bureaucrat

One part is a characteristic of a bureaucrat. The other part is a characteristic of a leader. Each is in no particular order.

Wants people. Wants spreadsheets.
​
Creates people who follow. Creates people worth following.
​
Seeks out people with experience. Seeks out experts with numbers.
​
Stands in the front, telling people how to do their jobs. Sits in the back, listening to people figure how how to do their jobs.
​
Wants those who follow to walk behind. Wants those who follow to walk beside.
​
Creates independence. Creates dependence.
​
Wants to be expendable. Wants to be indispensable.
​
Wants their name known. Wants their people known.
​
Me. We.
​
Considers appropriate knowledge as knowing a great deal about a very little. Considers appropriate knowledge as knowing just enough about just enough.
​
Seeks reasonable. Seeks perfection.
​
Has emotion that advises intellect. Has emotion that dominates intellect.
​
Understands that people are a blend of intellect and emotions. Wants people to be reducible to numbers.
​
Chooses the control of complexity. Chooses the freedom of simplicity.
​
Saves my freedom first and my life second. Saves only my life because freedom doesn't fit in a spreadsheet.
Understand that no one is all one and none the other. Everyone is a blend. Everyone is part the first statement and part the second.
​
There's no such thing as perfection. Good thing. It's why humans are able make a tomorrow that will make a tomorrow. There will never be a final today.
